Walking in the spirit
body, soul, and spirit- introduction to the concept of the tripartite man
our perspective and answer to question like this change everything about how we live our lives.

body and soul
if body and soul only: we get saved by Christ by his grace through faith (ephesians 2).
then we do our very best to please God with the wonderful body and mind which God has given us
it is valiant, noble, and difficult battle - but well worth the effort. Everything will work out in the hand
only body and soul? or also spirit?
the old man get saved by grace through faith (emphians 2)
we are then invaded and occupied by the actual presence of God to begin loving the Christian life (revelation 3)
The spirit of the man yields to and becomes one with and a conduit of The Spirit of God (2 Corinthians 5).
Our body and mind become instruments of God's righteousness (Romans 6).

body soul and spirit
This view seems to say that we don't do anything to be a Christian except trust His work in our lives. We don't even work at it. Lot's of people say this doesn't make any sense. I propose it is different and much deeper than that.
This is WAY MORE than an interesting question

love is the concern of other before myself
joy is the strength that bring happiness
peace is the profound agreement on central truth
patience is being able to enter a wait state (able to wait)
kindness is ---
goodness is doing the next right thing
faithfulness is always doing the right thing
gentleness is power under control
self-control is handing over the control of our self to somebody

So I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh. 17 For the flesh desires what is contrary to the Spirit, and the Spirit what is contrary to the flesh. They are in conflict with each other, so that you are not to do whatever you want. 18 But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law.

Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already arrived at my goal, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me. Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.

salvation - Ian thomas

your salvation, of course derive from the fact that there is a redeemed sinner no longer on the way to hell but already on the way to heaven. Jesus Christ as God, creator, has come to invade your humanity. To play that role in your for which you were created. To give him the right 24 hours a day In your business, in Your home, in your school, in your college campus. where you're on recreation invitation, in business. No matter, at any time under any circumstance, 24 hour in every day, 7 day in every week. You give jesus christ, as god the right to be God in you without reserve.

That's what it means to become a christian. we've conveniently reduced salvation to a moment in time  when we raise our hand, walk down the front or get baptized or have our name put upon a church role. So the christian life, of course, is the life that jesus christ lived then, lived now, by him, in us.

The holy spirit is God

He Indwells the believer:

he used to just ‘visit’ people, Now, he makes his home with us.
